PARENT/TODDLER GROUP

Our Little Buddies Parent and toddler group meets on Monday and Friday mornings from 10.30 a.m. to midday. Parents, grandparen­ts and carers are all welcome. There is always a warm welcome with tea, coffee and refreshmen­ts provided. €3 per family.

PRESCHOOL/AFTERSCHOO­L

Our Bright Minds Preschool operates from 9.15 a.m. to 12.15 p.m. and the Afterschoo­l from 1.30 p.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday, September-June. Bright Minds are providers of the ECCE and Community Childcare Subvention Schemes, offering free Preschool spaces and subsidised Afterschoo­l spaces for eligible families. A limited number of spaces are still available in our preschool. We are now taking enrolments for September, 2019. SOCIAL DAY CENTRE

Our social day centre provides older adults with improved quality of life through opportunit­ies for socialisin­g and lifelong learning. It also provides them with a place to engage with their peers and promotes inclusion and integratio­n of older people in the life of the community. The social day centre runs four days per week, Tuesday to Friday from 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Contact the centre for further details.

SENIORS ALERT SCHEME

The Avalon Centre are providers of the Seniors Alert Scheme. The Seniors Alert Scheme provides grant support for the supply of monitored personal alarms in the form of pendants or wrist watches that enable older people to continue to live securely in their homes. The grant covers the cost of the equipment and its installati­on. The first year of monitoring is free and will be €60 per year thereafter.

BOWLING

The Avalon Centre Bowling Club meets every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the centre. All are welcome-just call in on the day.

BINGO

Bingo takes place every Friday night from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Double books cost €15, single books €10, half books €5 and single sheets €1. There is also a raffle on the night.

YOUTH CLUB LEADERS REQUIRED

Would you like to volunteer at the Avalon Centre Youth Club which takes place on a Tuesday and Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Volunteers would be required to supervise and take part in various activities such as sports, dance, snooker, table tennis and baking etc. with participan­ts from 10 to 14 years. Our junior youth club (six- to 11-year-olds) meets from 6.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday and our senior youth club (11- to 14-yearolds) from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursdays.

PHYSIO-LED PILATES

Physio-led pilates classes continue on Thursday nights from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Contact the Avalon Centre at 071 9161836 for more details.
