Pro-life campaigner declares for local election
PRO-LIFE campaigner Amanda Gallagher, has indicated her intention to stand in the elections for Sligo County Council.
Gallagher has said she intends to run as an independent candidate for the Sligo/Drumcliff area.
Ms Gallagher insists she will not be affiliated to any independent grouping.
She has said she will be standing on a number of important local issues including Sligo University Hospital, the school dental scheme, bus shelters and the recent issue regarding the closure of St Mary’s Secondary School in Ballisodare where Ms Gallagher lives.
Her eldest daughter attends the school where she intended that her other five children would be attending following their primary education.
