Connacht League final for Sligo RFC Under 14s
SLIGO U14s had a comfortable win over Corrib RFC last Sunday in Hamilton Park in the last16 of the Connacht Cup. It was an excellent, all-round team performance, with tries from Ben Hayden (1), Oisin Conlon (2), Stefan Roche (1), Ronan O’ Hehir (2), Alex Harte (2), Robert O’ Kelly-Lynch (1) and Tom Walsh (1), with conversions by Oisin O’ Neil ensuring safe passage to the quarter-final of the cup away to Buccaneers on March 2nd. Focus now switches to the Connacht U14 League final next Saturday against fellow Division 1A team Corinthians R.F.C. This promises to be an enthralling contest with memories of last season’s cup final. The two sides shared the spoils in their league encounters this year, each winning their home match, but it was Sligo who topped the pool and under the excellent coaching team, led by Joe Walsh, will hopefully continue their winning ways.
