A community meeting to Save St Mary’s College takes place on Tuesday, February 19, at 8 p.m. in the Parish Centre, Corrownagh, Ballisodar­e. It is hoped that as many parents from the local area as possible will attend.

CASTLEDARG­AN LADIES GOLF

The annual table quiz hosted by Castledarg­an Ladies Golf Club will be held on Friday, February 22, at 8.30 p.m. in Castledarg­an Hotel. This year the table quiz fundraiser is in associatio­n with ‘Friends of Aengus, Bring Him Home’ to help Aengus Lyons return and live at home. €40 per table of four. Everyone welcome. Pitchside Signs – The club is currently reaching out to local businesses to advertise at Connolly Park in the form of a pitch side sign.

Nursery Programme – Owen- more Gaels are hosting a Nursery Programme in the Teeling Centre Collooney. It continues this Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. This is an introducti­on to Gaelic Football for kids in the community in a fun filled environmen­t. It will run for six weeks and it’s €2 per child. This is aimed for children aged between 4-6, born in 2013-2014. Parents are invited to participat­e in activities. Any queries please contact Paddy Watters at 085 8512889.

‘Cash for Clobber’ – Owenmore Gaels are running a ‘Cash for Clobber’ drive for the month of February. Items wanted; Good quality clothing; Bedding; Curtains, Shoes (pairs) Handbags. No soiled items, Duvets or pillows. Items can be left into the clubhouse or contact a club member for collection.

Dinner dance 2019 – A major date for the diary as the club hold a dinner dance in the Clayton Hotel on Saturday, March 2. Stay tuned for further details over the coming weeks.

COACHING WORKSHOP

There is a foundation course taking place at the end of the month in Summerhill college. This is ESSENTIAL for anybody who is or wants to get involved in coaching. It is an extremely informativ­e and worthwhile course, giving great knowledge and ideas for working with kids developmen­t. The lotto draw took place in Cullen’s on Monday, February 4. The numbers drawn were 1, 21, 24 and 28.

There was no winner of the €10,000 jackpot. Congratula­tions to our match-three winner Paul Haran, who wins €100.

The next draw for our €10,000 jackpot will take place on Monday, February 18, in the Owenmore Inn.

Set dancing returns to Ballintogh­er community centre on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. Come and learn a few steps. Also two hand dances. This is for a sixweek block. No partner needed. Spread the word please.
