25 CARD GAME

The regular game is each Tuesday night at 9 p.m. in Community Centre Winners on 12 games were Margaret Guilfoyle/ Noleen Casserly, Seán Collery/ Anthony McKeon. Runners-up on 10 games were Michael Healy/Margaret Healy, Molly O’Hagan/Vincent O’Hagan. New and inexperien­ced players are always welcome. The game is run by Cadra in partnershi­p with St John’s GAA Club and all proceeds go to local projects in the community so please support and bring a friend.

ANNUAL SPRING CLEAN

Our community Spring Clean is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 13, commencing at 9.30 a.m. All residents are asked to keep the date free to ensure we give our area good clean-up for the summer. – more details later

GREENFORT RESIDENTST­HANK YOU

Greenfort residents’ associatio­n wish to acknowledg­e with appreciati­on, the financial assistance it received in November, from Sligo County Council, under the community and Voluntary Sector General Grant Scheme 2018.The funding was used on a project we again undertook, to further enhance our Green Area/Estate. Wilma Goldcrest, Alpines, Variety Bedding and Roses were planted, in addition to the applicatio­n of weed spray on the Green Area, by a licenced operator.

FOOTPATH AT CUILBEG

Cadra is delighted that our hard work is now coming to fruition with the work by Mullane’s having commenced. This will eventually allow us have a footpath to the Community Sports Complex at Cuilbeg and will allow our children walk safely to the facility. It will also allow more people from Carraroe walk safely and access the walk that is being developed around the sports fields.

Cadra on behalf of the community of Carraroe wish to express our thanks and appreciati­on to the Rose and Oliver Harte for their assistance and cooperatio­n with the project.

We also appreciate the work of Michael Carty Engineer Sligo Co County Council for all his assistance. We acknowledg­e the grant under the Towns and Villages Scheme which allows this work and appreciate all our public representa­tive for the support given with the project.

SLIMMING WORLD

We are planning to finish the area on the banks at the community centre, cut the edges on all our grass areas to present in neat condition. We would like to hear form anyone willing to assist with any projects or indeed any ideas contact any committee member or email cadrasligo­1@ gmail.com.

LAKEVIEW GUILD ICA.

The guild meet on the first Tuesday of the month in Carraroe Community Centre at 8 p.m. New members always welcome-for further informatio­n contact Mary at 086 3755894. The spring federation meeting will be held in the Sligo Park Hotel on Tuesday, February 20, at 7.30. Margaret from Strandhill Guild will give an update on Dollys Cottage. The table quiz will be held at this meeting three members on each team, the winning team will represent Sligo Federation at the national finals.

LEARN TO DANCE

Dance class followed by live band each Wednesday night in Carraroe Community Centre Sligo. Dance class commences at 8.30 p.m. with live band from 9.30 p.m. to 11.30 p.m. The Bands schedules are: February 20 Noel Brody, February 27 Stuart Moyles.
