Work to start on busy N15 route
WORK will start this week at a junction on the N15 which has been the scene of many accidents.
Lagan Asphalt will be commencing the construction of the N15 Cliffoney North Scheme.
The project involves the digging out of the existing failed road structure and replacing it.
In parallel with this, a feasibility report for road safety improvements at Creevykeel Cross Roads is being prepared which was identified by the TII as a High Collision Location.
Roads Engineer John O Flaherty has discussed the solution with the TII safety Inspector and funding will be forthcoming in the new year for this project. It is intended that, subject to road safety audit, this proposal will be included in the N15 Cliffoney North scheme. “I have lobbied for the Creevykeel Junction for improved safety improvements following numerous accidents and near misses over the past few years. These works will last for four months approximately and road safety will be improved as a result,” said local councillor, Marie Casserly.
