Ballinode Community College

-

Our College provides a safe healthy environment in which all students are nurtured and encouraged to achieve their full potential.

All students at Ballinode College have iPads, and use these in the classroom as part of their learning. The iPads have all school books installed as well as a variety of educational apps. Students don’t have to carry heavy schoolbags and the iPads help students engage in active learning and research. Our experience has seen the iPads transform the classroom experience and our recent Whole School Evaluation commented on the positive impact of the iPads on our school.

At Ballinode Community College our small numbers mean that we can provide individualised support for our students. The quality of the relationships in the school allow us to meet the needs of our students in a targeted and focused manner.

In our school we have strived to create a positive learning environment for our students where fairness and respect are valued. Students are supported by an effective pastoral care system that focuses on student well-being and allows us to create an atmosphere where students can prosper.

Our school offers a broad range of programmes and subjects. Students can avail of the Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate, as well as the Junior Certificate Schools Programme, Leaving Certificate Applied and Leaving Cert Vocational

Classrooms are equipped with the most up-todate technology and equipment including iPads, smartboards, data projectors and visualisers. Specialist rooms such as Home Economics, Construction, Engineering, Technical Graphics and Computers have state of the art facilities. Our modern canteen serves full lunches and snacks

Our school provides subsidised meals for our students with full canteen facilities available to students at both break and lunchtime. We also have a Breakfast Club from 8.00 a.m onwards where students can avail of a free breakfast.

We provide a free Homework Club to all 1st Year where students can complete homework and study in a supervised and supportive environment surrounded by their peers. The small numbers mean that students can receive help with their studies and concentrate in an environment free from distractions.

Our students stay on campus throughout the school day and are supervised at all times. This means that we can offer effective supervision for students and ensure that they have all they need on the school campus to support them.
