University Postgraduate and Continued Education programmes at St. Angela’s College for September 2020!
SINCE 1952, St. Angela’s College has developed significantly and continues to broaden its range of programmes in response to local and national trends. With a New Year upon us, you may want to explore further studies either for professional development or to engage in a personal interest. With that in mind, the College is proud to announce the new Postgraduate and Adult/Continuing Education Prospectus 2020-2021. Here, you will find all the programmes on offer for September 2020 delivered by the College’s Departments of Nursing, Health Sciences and Disability Studies; Education; Centre for Special Education Needs, Inclusion and Diversity; Home Economics; Centre for Lifelong Learning. All programmes are accredited by NUI Galway.
Acting President, Amanda McCloat explains “We are delighted to offer our range of University programmes for September 2020 to those who wish to gain a professional qualification in their chosen area”. She continues “programmes are offered via blended learning which means limited time is required on campus and more focused towards online and e-learning. This can be suitable to those with family and work commitments. We also offer a range of stand-alone modules which, when combined, can go towards a Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma or Masters qualification”.
Our Nursing, Health Sciences and Disability Studies offer such options in Nursing Studies as well as Community Mental Health, Applied Health and Wellness Coaching and Disability Studies. Our Education programmes include Pastoral Care/ Chaplaincy Studies, Theology and Community Involvement as well as a Certificate in Religious Education. Many of our Centre for Special Educational Needs, Inclusion and Diversity (CSENID) programmes will be of interest to qualified teachers. The CENSID also the ever-popular Certificate in Special Educational Needs for Special Needs Assistants (Level 7).
Being the only provider of Home Economics study in the country, we offer a Master of Education (Home Economics) as well as programmes in the areas of Food Innovation, Conflict Management and Conflict Resolution. The Centre for Lifelong Learning offers studies in Leadership and Management for the Community and Public Sector, Volunteer Management, Historical and Heritage Studies as well as a Diploma in Folklore and Heritage of the North West. The College also offer an Access Programme (Diploma in Foundation Studies) which allows adult learners to progress to an Undergraduate programme of their choice at St. Angela’s College.
