SOCIAL BRIDGE CLUB

Enniscrone Social Bridge Club has resumed play at the Diamond Coast Hotel each Wednesday commencing at seven. A great turn out at bridge for our first night back since Christmas. Eight and half tables played. The winners on N/S Mairin Wade and Nora Kennedy, and on E/W.. Kevin McLoughlin and Walter Doherty. Well done to all, fabulous scores.

CORBALLA NS

Corballa NS will be having an open evening this Wednesday, January 15, from 5.30 to 6.30 p.m. We would like to invite all new school entrants and their parents to come and see our school.

You will have a chance to see our Infant Classroom, meet our school staff and view our whole school facilities. Enrolment Forms for the coming school year 2020 – 2021 will be available on the evening. Forms can also be collected from the school, or by ringing the school at 096 36287, or emailing us at corballans@ gmail.com.’

WALKING CLUB

Next walk is on January 18 – Union Wood. Level moderate, Terrain track/trail, length three hours. All walks subject to change pending weather or other conditions at time. Walks start from Enniscrone Tourist Office at 9.30.

ENNISCRONE KILGLASS GAA

Athbhliain faoi mhaise daoibh. A very Happy New Year to everyone associated with our club. Hopefully 2020 brings success for the club on the playing fields.

Married v Singles 2019 – Thank you to everyone who supported and played in our annual Married v Singles charity match on December 28 A large crowd turned out in support of this year’s chosen charity, Brendan’s Lyme Aid, a fund set up in aid of local man Brendan Devaney, who is receiving treatment for Lymes Disease. All donations were greatly appreciate­d.

Gavin Duffy scored a point for the Sligo under-20s in their 4-11 to 2-8 loss to Longford last Saturday. Sligo host Fermanagh in the second round of the Philly McGuinness Cup this Saturday.

Bursary award – Congratula­tions to Eoin Hallinan on receiving a Connacht GAA bursary last week.AGM will be held towards the end of January, with our dinner dance scheduled to take place in mid-February. More details on both of these important dates later.

DEFIBRILLA­TOR TRAINING

There will be defibrilla­tor training and refresher training for anyone who has done it previously taking place shortly in the area. Please contact Breda Sheridan at 087 9674673 if you’re interested in taking the training.

FAMILY RESOUCE CENTRE.

We are in the process of relocating to a new bright airy space in the heart of Enniscrone, located beside Enniscrone Launderett­e. We are very excited for this new chapter and look forward to providing services and support to the local community. Our old premises will shortly be available to rent and would suit a variety of either commercial or service industries.

BLOTTO

There was no winner of the €9,600 jackpot when the blotto draw took place in the Sheridan’s pub Kilglass last Saturday, numbers drawn were 25, 35, and 40, €25 winners were Mary Scott, Micheál Sheridan, Kieran Conway and Kirsty, Zuzi, Chloe, c/o the Pilot Bar. Next draw is €9,800 and will take place on Saturday, January 11, in Hopkins Bar. The football clubs wish to thank everyone for their continued support to the blotto and wish all the best for 2020.
