SYMPATHY

Sympathy is extended to the Murphy family on the death of their mother Gertrude (Gertie) Cloonkeela­un, Enniscrone, : daughters Geraldine, Una, Veronica, Linda and Tina. Sympathy also to her sister Maureen (Leeds), in laws, grandchild­ren, great grandchild­ren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Removal took place from McGowan’s funeral home, Ballina on Sunday evening to S.t. Joseph’s Church Castleconn­or. Burial took place in Killanley Cemetery, Castleconn­or after 11 a.m. Mass of the Resurrecti­on. May she rest in peace amen.

Congratula­tions to Bernie and Teresa Fox of Carrowhubb­ock, Enniscrone, who have celebrated their 45th Wedding Anniversar­y with family and friends. We wish them continued health and happiness.

SOCIAL BRIDGE CLUB

Enniscrone Social Bridge Club has resumed play at the Diamond Coast Hotel each Wednesday commencing at 7 p.m..A wonderful turn out to bridge this week. 34 people played making eight and half tables.

COLAISTE IASCAIGH

Our senior girls’ football team topped group B in the Sligo league. They bet Coláiste Mhuire Ballymote, Jesus and Mary Secondary School Enniscrone and St Attracta’s Tubbercurr­y. They will play the top of group A (to be confirmed) in the Sligo a final in the coming weeks. Congratula­tions girls for getting this far and best of luck in the county final.

SCOIL CHRIOST RI

Scoil Chríost Rí Enniscrone will be holding their annual Cookery Demonstrat­ion and Valentine Craft Fair in the Diamond Coast

Hotel on Thursday, February 6. Doors open at 7 p.m., starting at 7.30 p.m. Tickets €10 will be available on the night on the door.

SAFETALK

Safetalk iss a half day training programme that prepares participan­ts to identify persons with thoughts of suicide and connect them to suicide first aid resources. These specific skills are called suicide alertness and are taught with the expectatio­n that the person learning them will use them to help reduce suicide risk in their communitie­s. There is no charge for this training.

ENNISCRONE KILGLASS GAA

Our annual club dinner dance will take place on Saturday, February 15in the Diamond Coast Hotel. We’ll have more details in the coming weeks.

Our club AGM will be place on Friday, January 31, at 8 p.m. in the clubhouse. All members are asked to attend.

WESTERN GAELS HURLING CLUB

Club Membership for 2020 is now due. We will hold an open registrati­on evening in the astroturf Pitch, Quigabar on Tuesday and Tuesday, February 4, and 11, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. €20 – Underage €30 – Non-playing adult €50 – Family membership €50 – senior adult.

All new members are welcome to attend. Times and dates for training sessions will issue shortly.

WEST SLIGO FAMILY RESOUCE CENTRE.

We have relocated to a new bright airy space in the heart of Enniscrone, located beside Enniscrone Launderett­e. We are very excited for this new chapter and look forward to providing services and support to the local community. Our old premises will shortly be available to rent and would suit a variety of either commercial or service industries.

BLOTTO

There was no winner of the €10,000 jackpot when the blotto draw took place in the Ocean Sands Hotel last Saturday, numbers drawn were 6, 10, and 16, €25 winners were Coleman Larkin, Mary O’Brien, Eamon Harnett, and Neil Gilroy.

Next draw is €10,200 and will take place on Saturday, January 25, in Gilroy’s bar. The football clubs wish to thank everyone for their continued support to the blotto and wish all the best for 2020.
