We offer our condolence­s to the family and friends of Mai Hanley née Lyons, who died in the USA recently; formerly of Dernaskeag­h (sister of Margaret Gallagher Carnaree, Ballymote and the late Tommie Lyons Dernaskeag­h).

PILATES CLASSES

Pilates Classes continue in the White Hall Keash on Monday nights at 8 p.m.

KEASH CHURCH ROOF FUNDRAISIN­G.

A monster auction shall take place in May, in the hope of generating further funds towards the cost of the new church roof in Keash. All donations of items for auction, gratefully accepted. More details to follow.

MEETING RE CULFADDA HALL.

Regular meetings are taking place in Culfadda National school to discuss a proposal for the complete refurbishm­ent of the dilapidate­d hall in Culfadda and the hope to turn the hall into a vibrant community centre that the people of the locality and beyond can enjoy.

All groups and individual­s are asked to bring forward any ideas they may have for the use of a new community centre, and everyone is very welcome to submit ideas for events and activities they may like to see taking place in the future in a modernised building. Parents of school going children are asked to attend with a view to setting up a before/ after school and homework club in the future. Everyone’s opinion welcome.

SET DANCING CLASSES

Set dancing classes continue on Thursday night in Mullinabre­ena Hall, refreshmen­ts served.

JOHN HANNON MEMORIAL CEILI

The John Hannon Memorial Ceili will take place in Higgins Lounge Culfadda on Friday, February 7, refreshmen­ts served. Everyone welcome.

COMMUNITY GAMES

The Maugherow Community Games forms are currently available in Dunleavys Shop or may be obtained by contacting maugherow Community Games Facebook page or 087 7182363. These forms need to be returned ASAP.

The art competitio­n will be held in St Patrick’s School Maugherow on Saturday, February 15, at 11 a.m., children need to bring their own paints/colours, paper will be supplied.

It is intended to hold cycling on grass at the school on Thursday, April 23, at 6 p.m. and the Athletics and field events on Friday, April 24, at 6 p.m. Please note that no entries will be accepted on the day. Further updates will be added to the Facebook page.
