Young athletes on form at Indoors
NORTH Sligo AC’s Juveniles excelled in Claremorris recently.
The Club was very well represented at the County Indoors which took place in Co Mayo.
There was 56 athletes ranging in age from U11s to U16s taking part over a wide array of events including Sprints, Hurdles, Middle Distance, Long Jump and High Jump at the Mayo venue.
The past few months of training paid dividends with the large collection of medals won on the day.
The following received medals in their respected events;
Relays U11 Girls Bronze, U11 Boys Silver, U12 Girls Bronze, U12 Boys Gold, U14 Girls Bronze, U14
Boys Gold, U15 Girls Gold.
Individual Events Gold medals were won in the following;
U12 Hurdles and U12 60m Darragh O’Sullivan, U15 Hurdles. U15 800m and High Jump Saoirse Lawley, U12 600m Aidan Gillen, U13 600m Katie McDonagh, U14 800m Gemma O’Callaghan, U14 800m Daniel Oates, U15 Long Jump Jasmine Dunleavy, U12 High Jump Hugh O’Connell, U12 High Jump Sophie Nicholson.
Silver Medals in U12 Hurdles Aidan Gillen, U14 Hurdles Eamonn Keiley, U14 60m Daniel Oates, U15 60m Anna Currid, U11 600m Emily Kelly, U13 600m Ciara McGee, U14 800m Grace McNelis Lee,
U14 800m Daniel McSharry, U15 800m Kiera Ferguson, U15 Long Jump Molly McLoughlin, U12 High Jump Ellen Gilmartin.

The Connaught Indoors take place at AIT on Saturday, February 22nd and Sunday, February 23rd.
