There was no winner of the €23,900 jackpot, numbers drawn were, 12, 16, 18, and 35, No jackpot winner. €50 winners were Ollie Sexton, Anthony Hallinan, and Chris Kilgannon. Next week’s jackpot is €24,000, and will take place on Saturday, February 7, you need to be in it to win it.

HANDBALL

Well done to our under-13 boys who participat­ed in the local handball competitio­n. Jason O’Regan won gold, Kyle Sexton silver and Diarmuid Feeney bronze.

EOGHAN RUA LADIES

Eoghan Rua LGFA held our annual Awards Night on February 1 in the Diamond Coast Hotel. Everyone, who attended enjoyed a buffet meal followed by disco with DJ Patrick.

A presentati­on was made to Our under-14 team who made history in the club by winning our first ever all-Ireland Club Féile Title. Our under-12 team were presented with their A championsh­ip winners medals for their fantastic efforts on the field of play in 2019. Medals were also presented to our under-10s for their participat­ion in developmen­tal games and blitz competitio­ns throughout last season. The minor team were presented with Championsh­ip Winner Medals, the clubs first minor title in a number of years.

Young Player of the Year was awarded to Orla Naughton while Senior Player of the Year went to Leanne Taylor Both awards were kindly sponsored by Raymond Carden of Ridgepool Fuels Ballina.

Sheila Murphy was presented with a token of the clubs appreciati­on for her 15 years of service to the club as secretary by Sligo LGFA chairperso­n Raymond Carden.

A very sincere thank you to our special guests on the night, Sligo LGFA star Sinéad Naughton and Junior World Swimming Champion Mona McSharry. Both girls spoke about their sporting careers and gave great advice to all players that attended the night. Also a Big thanks Tómas Gilmartin for taking all photos on the night. Special thanks must go to all who helped organise the event so well, The Diamond Coast Hotel Enniscrone for providing the venue and food, DJ Patrick for providing music, along with all our sponsors and committee members. The club would like to take the opportunit­y to thank all those who attended and joined in on the celebratio­ns on the night. We look forward to very successful sporting 2020.

COMMUNITY PARK DRAW

The Community Park lotto draw for January took place in Brennan’s at the weekend. There was no winner of the €3,800 jackpot. There were three matchthree winners. Congratula­tions to Martin and Patricia Gavaghan, Siobhán Surlis and Cloonacool church. Next month’s jackpot will be worth €3,900 many thanks for your continued support.

OPERATION TRANSFORMA­TION

Cloonacool GAA is currently running Operation Transforma­tion for a second year. There will be a torch lit walk in Tubbercurr­y forest walk each Wednesday evening, as well as the popular local Sunday morning walks. We will conclude with a finale in Brennans. Contact Brian McIntyre (087 2705372) if you would like to enter a group or need more info. It was a huge success and very enjoyable outing last year. It promises to be a great social event with already a big numbers assigned into groups.

CRAFTERS GROUP

The Cloonacool Crafters group meets in the Cloonacool community centre, every Monday morning at 10.30. New members are welcome. The group have worked on card making, knitting, crochet and more, and members can learn new skills and share existing ones with members. Anyone interested in the group can call in any Monday from 10.30 a.m.
