ENNISCRONE KILGLASS GAA

Marty Duffy is our new club chairperson. He was elected at last Fridays AGM, and takes the reins from outgoing chair PJ Kavanagh, who occupied the role since last year. Before that, Declan Rouse held the position for several years and put in a trojan amount of work. We wish Marty every success in his new role.

There was a change of secretary too, with Shane Hargadon taking the role on as Brendan Murray stepped down. Brendan too has contributed much over a number of years as secretary and we look forward to his continued involvement as vice-chair.

They were the only major changes at the meeting, which heard of a progressive year in 2019 as well as plans for the coming year.

The club is delighted to announce the appointment of Michael Duffy as our new intermediate football team manager.

KILGLASS ENNISCRONE UNITED FC

Very proud of our recent addition to facilities at M McGowan Park. This would not have been achieved without a group of people which have made Micheál McGowan Park into one of the best grounds in Sligo Leitrim and indeed west of Ireland.

This development is in memory of members Eddie O’Dowd a founding member of the club and Gerry Gilroy, who oversaw the successful amalgamation of Enniscrone utd and kilglass fc. The club and committee felt that the two men should be remembered for the huge contributions they made to where the club is today. They both were proud of what has been achieved to date.

It’s with that in mind we have decided to name the stand ‘Eddie and Gerry stand’ with 132 stadium seating and wheelchair accessibility. We are sure it is something that both men would approve of and would be proud to be associated with. We are hopeful that past and present players, those associated to the club both near and far and have a interest in Micheál McGowan Park will support the development.

We are offering seats in the stand to be sponsored and named for €100 or you can message the post or page or you can contact our club secretary pat McKeown at 086 1907259.

SOCIAL BRIDGE CLUB

Enniscrone Social Bridge Club has resumed play at the Diamond Coast Hotel each Wednesday commencing at seven. No result from bridge tonight as it was the first leg of the Freeman Trophy. There was a draw for partners so that made bidding and playing more challenging than usual... great fun had by all.
