Company pays warm tribute to colleague

-

THE Management and Staff of Casey Kavanagh & Co, Sligo are deeply saddened by the untimely passing of their colleague Loman Gallagher, a very popular member of staff and friend who passed away on 21st January last.

Loman began his accountancy career as a trainee with Hamilton Hamilton Raftery (now Sherlock Hamilton) where he pursued his career for ten years until 1988.

He then moved to Kieran Egan and Company which became Egan Casey and Company and now Casey Kavanagh and Company today. He worked for over 30 years with the firm in accounting and taxation and became Taxation Manager. He will be greatly missed by all his colleagues.

Loman was not just an accountant and tax advisor to his clients but he was also considered to be a good friend and confidant. Loman was a good listener and made people feel at ease. This was very evident from the many telephone calls and kind words of sympathy the company received over the last few weeks and also by the large amount of people that came to express their sympathies at the funeral home and funeral mass.

Among the many memories the company has of Loman and which they will not forget was his great commitment and love of Sligo Rovers.

It was normal on a Friday evening to hear Loman organising the lads to operate the turnstyles at his beloved The Showgrounds. Loman’s commitment and dedication to Sligo Rovers was so deservedly acknowledged by the tributes paid in print and social media, and at the removal and funeral by the club.

Loman had a great sense of humour, his quick witted comments led to many laughs between clients and colleagues. This will always be remembered.

He was a highly respected colleague and a quiet and dignified man and he will be sadly missed by everyone. Thoughts and sympathies are with his wife Geraldine, daughter Claire, son Paul, brother Karl and sister Elaine. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.
