GREEN ST PATRICK’S DAY PARADE THEME.
This year’s Manorhamilton St Patrick’s Day parade, which takes place on Sunday, March 15, from 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m., will have a special green environmental theme, namely ‘Cycle Recycle.’.
Parade participants, community groups, as well as all the towns shops, are invited to enter floats, etc and shop window displays, for some brand new and novel, as well as challenging prize categories, which are (1) Most Creative ‘Cycle Recycle,’ (2) Funniest ‘Cycle Recycle,’ (3) Best Community Group and (4) Best ‘Cycle Recycle’ Shop Window.
The St Patrick’s Day Organising Committee is asking all Manorhamilton’s businesses to participate or to donate. The committee is also encouraging everyone to ‘come on and join in the fun’ of Manorhamilton’s St Patrick’s Day parade, which is expected to attract thousands of locals and visitors to the town.
GLENFARNE SCHOOLS REUNION
The Glenfarne Schools Reunion 2020 celebration and get-together of all former students who attended any of the schools in the parish will take place from Friday, July 31, to Saturday, August 1.
Meantime all former students who attended any of the schools in the parish and their families are being asked ‘do you have any stories or photos you are willing to share? The Reunion organisers are hoping to produce a book recalling school life in all the former Glenfarne National Schools namely, Brockagh, Carraigeangear, Cornamon, Cullentra, Loughross, Tawnyinshinagh and the current parish school, St Michael’s.

STRONG LEITRIM CONNECTIONS
Berlin based Irish musical duo Perlee, who will put on what is expected to be a terrific a show in the Glens Theatre on Saturday night, February 29, have strong Leitrim connections.
Saramai Leech and Cormac O’Keeffe make up the band called Perlee. Both were born in Navan Co. Meath and they now live in Berlin where they work as full time as musicians.
Cormac spent much of his youth with his Leitrim cousins, the Sweeneys in Manorhamilton, the O’Connors in Glencar and the McNultys in Lissinagroagh. Perlee meantime, launch their new EP this month.
When they play in the Glens Theatre on Leap Year Day night, Perlee are looking forward to seeing many familiar faces, both family and friends in the audience. The organisers of Perlee’s Glens Theatre Gig say it will be an evening of ‘soothing alt pop’ after the performance gets under way at 8 p.m.
RAMBLING HOUSE NIGHT
It will be a great occasion of music, song, aance and stories when the popular Rambling House Night event takes place in Ballintogher Enterprise Centre on this Firday, February 21 starting 8 p.m.
The Rambling House Night event organisers say ‘come along and enjoy the social event and bring a friend. All will be very welcome.
