ST BRIGID’S CROSSES
St Brigid’s Crosses made by Claire Conway, Linda Shannon and their helpers were acknowedged by the donations of people in Gurteen, Cloonloo and Killaraght to the total of €450 which went to Irish Pilgrimage Trust which brings under-18 children to Lourdes for seven days at Easter with no cost to the children. There are 12 children going fron Sligo – Mary Clancy, Rathcormack is organiser for Sligo Region – info from Fr Joe PP – well done to concerned.
CONFIRMATION
The Sacrament of Confirmation will be in Gurteen on Saturday, May 9 – there will be thirty nine young people to be confirmed by the new Bishop of Achonry Paul Dempsey – 25 pupils from Carn NS, six from Cloonloo NS and eight from Mullaghroe NS.
BINGO
Bingo is held every Friday in Gurteen Hall at 8.30 p.m. Jackpot is €2,700 on 47 calls and the lotto game is €200 plus all the other generous cash prizes. Proceeds is shared by the hall committee and the Eastern Harps GAA Club.
SOCIAL DANCING
Social dancing continues every week at 8 p.m. in the Coleman Music Centre, Gurteen on Thursday night.
COUNTY FLEADH
The Sligo County Fleadh 2020 will be held in Riverstown hosted by Riverstown Branch of CCE on the Bank Holiday week end 30 and May 31. Closing date for all entries is Saturday, March 28, and entries should be sent to all Branch secretaries.
Entry forms for Riverstown Fleadh for Craobh Coleman members can be got in the Coleman Centre and filled and left there for the Branch secretary Peggy Gaffney, by closing date March 28. No entries can be accepted after that date.
AL-ANON MEETING
Al-Anon meeting which offers support for family and friends affected by someone’s drinking is held every Tuesday evening at 9 p.m. in the Ozanam Centre, behind the Cathedral, Ballaghaderreen.
PTAA DINNER DANCE
Achonry Regional PTAA annual dinner dance will be held in the Gateway Hotel, Swinford on March 6 at 8 p.m. Music by the Duets. Tickets €25.

Community Cinema Club continues at Coleman Music Centre for adults on Saturday, March 7, at 8.30 p.m. We are showing the Irish Film ‘Waking Ned’. This is a heart-warming comedy based in Ireland. Waking Ned is a feel good humours film with lots of laughs along the way. Starring a large cast of well-known Irish Actors included David Kelly, Fionnula, Flanaghan, James Nesbitt and Susan Lynch.
