SYMPATHY

Sympathy is extended to the Cullen Family Corballa, on the death of their mother Bridget Cullen (née Loftus).

Removal took place from McGowan’s funeral home Ballina on Monday evening to St Joseph’s Church Castleconn­or. Burial took place after 11 a.m. Requiem Mass on Tuesday morning in Killanley Cemetery, Castleconn­or may she rest in peace.

Castleconn­or Amateur Dramatic Society will present ‘They Got What They Wanted’ by Louis D’Alton on Friday, February 28, Saturday, February 29, and Sunday, March 1, at 8 p.m. in Castleconn­or Community Centre.

INTERCOUNT­Y FOOTBALL – Sligo travelled to Aughrim to play Wicklow last Sunday the 16th. Although Seán hit the net for us in the first half it wasn’t enough as Wicklow ended Sligo’s 100% start to the season winning 1-15 to 1-10.

This Saturday the 22nd at the unusual time of 2 p.m. Seán and the rest of the Sligo team will face Waterford in Markievicz Park. An added bonus for the club is that our under-10s will be playing in a demonstrat­ion match at half time – good luck to Seán and all the kids too. with planning this year’s walk are welcome to attend. DEMENTIA TEA DANCE

A social Tea Dance for those who have Dementia and their carers will be held in the Ocean Sands on Wednesday, March 4, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Mabel the person in charge in Sonas Nursing Home Enniscrone will be there to answer any Dementia related questions.

ST PATRICK’S DAY PARADE

The annual West Sligo Three Village St Patrick’s Day parade will take place on Tuesday, March 17, starting in Enniscrone at 1 p.m., Easkey at 3 p.m. and on to Dromore West for their 4.30 p.m. parade. All Local Businesses and groups in West Sligo are encouraged to participat­e in the parade.

SPRING FEST 2020.

Spring Fest 2020 takes place in Dromore West Community Centre on Sunday, April 5, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. This year there will be a preloved fashion boutique, vintage jewellery stands, local foods and craft, workshops and hands on learning. This is a free event open to everyone.

COOKERY CLASSES

Basic cookery classes for adults are starting on Wednesday, March 4, from 10 to midday in the West Sligo Family Resource Centre. Call Mary at 087 7876904 to register.

MEN’S SHED

Anyone interested in joining the Enniscrone Men’s Shed call into the West-Sligo Family Resource Centre or come along to one of the meetings on a Tuesday between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.

RAINBOWS IRELAND

Rainbows Ireland supporting children with bereavemen­t and parental separation will hold an informatio­n evening at the West Sligo Family Resource Centre, Enniscrone on Wednesday, February 26, at 7.30 p.m.

SKREEN DANCE

The social dance in SkreenDrom­ard community centre will be held on Saturday, February 29. Music for dancing supplied by Bernie Heaney and Boz.

BELTRA COUNTRY MARKET

Beltra Country Market has reopened on Saturday mornings after the January break. The new opening time is from 10.30 to 12.30 a.m.

EASKEY CARD GAME

A card game takes place in Easkey in the school beside the church on Sundays at 8.30. Proceeds for the upgrade works of the Cemetry.
