TEXT ALERT

We are changing our provider to Komeer and will be passing all your details to them on May 30. Please note the details provided below.

As a member of our current system you are aware, we originally collected €10 to cover the costs associated with providing the system. We have been reviewing the system and costs associated. Last year a new system of charges was levied by the provider Be Alert including a monthly service charge of €34.44 plus the costs of each text message sent.

This in effect means it now costs in excess of €1,000 per year to provide the current system and we cannot continue to provide the service without people being required to pay. The collection of money from individuals is a difficulty for our small committee in terms of distribution of participants which we know you will understand.

As result of our review we have had discussion with Komeer; a provider which provides a service that includes the following features: A cost-effective communications platform that will help communities stay connected without having the need to send out SMS or emails. Cuts down 85% of SMS cost.

Komeer is for everyone including people who do not have a smartphone. No set-up or training costs. Collection of payments is easiest as you don’t have to go door to door for collection. It all happens with the app. GDPR is taken care of as the members are in full control of their information and the communities have up to date information of each member.

The current costs associated with the service provided by Komeer is €10 per year for an individual who wishes to continue using the SMS system and €5 per year for an individual who downloads the Komeer App and receives the test messages via the App. There are no limits on the number or length of text when using the Komeer system but the number of characters, number of texts and monthly service charge, dictate the cost of our current system.

We are contacting you to advise we will be passing your telephone number to the new proposed service provided who will be texting you to request you to agree to joining the new group on Komeer including the downloading the App and arranging the payment for the service.

If you do not wish to have your details passed to the new provider please contact any of listed people immediately but not later than Friday, May 29, at 5 p.m. as after that date we will proceed to pass your details to Komeer; Contact persons are Bridie McLean 086 3998925, Pat Benson 087 2222835 Mary Murphy 087 6888293, Dympna O’Loughlin 087 9303540, Mary Dunbar 087 6669533 or email patwbenson1@gmail.com.
