DEATH

It was with sadness that the community learned of the death of Josie McGettrick, Kilvarnet, wife of the late James McGettrick. Sympathy is expressed to her son, Michael and daughters, Maura, Siobhán and Breege, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchild­ren, brother and sister. Neighbours and friends paid their respects by standing along the roads from the church to Josie’s final resting place in Kilvarnet. May she rest in peace.

Sympathy is expressed to Hazel and Donald Clarke and family, on the passing of Hazels mother, Emma Bright. May She rest in peace.

The community was saddened to learn of the untimely passing of Robert Middleton, Carrownaca­rrick, who died suddenly in Dublin. Sympathy is expressed to his sisters Geraldine (Reynolds) Caroline (Henry) and Richard and extended family members. May Robert rest in peace.

Sympathy is expressed to the Quigley family, on the passing of Francie Quigley, late of Wicklow and Rathnarrow. Francie was a regular visitor home and enjoyed his chats with the locals and spending time on the bog. May he rest in peace.

Sympathy is expressed to Delia Fahy and family on the passing of her sister Pauline in the UK May she rest in peace.

Sympathy is expressed to the Reynolds families on the untimely death of Cian English in Australia. Cian was a grandson of Yvonne Webster née Reynolds, Carlow. May he rest in peace.

RUN/WALK FOR PIETA

Congratula­tions to all the Owenmore Gaels members around the globe who took part in the run/walk for Pieta House, a massive thanks to everyone who contribute­d. A total of €4,127 was raised for Pieta House over the weekend.

WELL DONE

Well done to the Ballinacar­row Community Developmen­t Group, who are doing great work painting and sowing flowers and have the village looking great. New members are always welcome to get involved, it’s a great way to meet neighbours and make new friends wh.ile maintainin­g a social distance.
