RETURN TO MASS

Doo Church: The governments announcement recently of the restriction on indoor gatherings to fifty people is making the reopening of our churches very difficult. The two metre restriction is still in place and must be observed—this limits those who could attend in Doo Church to twenty two people—eleven seats with two people in each seat out of the total of twenty one seats so for the moment Mass will not be held in Doo Church but please God when restrictions are eased more, we will be able to resume Mass in Doo also.

Ballymote Church: The Sunday obligation is suspended for the moment so there is no obligation to attend Mass but those who wish to can attend on any of the weekdays maybe freeing up Saturday/Sunday for those who can’t attend during the week.

People who are vulnerable in any way are encouraged to continue to join in Church Services via online media/radio/TV if possible. It is hoped to continue to provide daily Mass on the Ballymote Parish Facebook page.

When the permitted number of fifty people are in Ballymote Church others may join from the Carpark by staying in their cars or by observing social distancing and the sound system will broadcast the Mass outside the church also. Stewards will guide people to their seats filling from the front of the Church until the limit of fifty people is reached.

We ask for your understanding and co-operation in this regard. Holy Communion will be distributed in single file and on the hand only; after the Mass I will distribute Holy Communion to those outside the church. There will be no Readers, or Servers, or Choir, or Eucharistic Ministers for the moment. We will sanitise the church after Mass and because of this necessity Saturday evening Mass will take place at
