ON Friday 3rd we had the Heineken Open Series which was a great success last year. With brilliant weekly prizes and top qualifiers each week book their place in the Grand Final.
The top three this week were Alan Martin 35pts, Wilfred Bourke 35pts and Mark Mullen 35pts.
Also on Saturday 4th our lady members competed for the Annual Mary McGourty Cup. Special thanks to John Mullaney for his kind sponsorship and to Eoin and the resort for supplying the food after.
Results - 1st Nora Teague 31pts(B9), 2nd Pauline Byrne 31pts, 3rd Sheila Clancy 25pts.
On Sunday 5th we had the next round of the Golfer of the Year and is kindly sponsored by Integrated Facilities Management Ltd.
In first with a great score of 40pts was Wayne Kelly, Harry Graham was 2nd with 39pts and beating his brother Richard 3rd with 38pts.
Last week On Tuesday & Wednesday 9 holes Member Club Comp continued. On Friday & Saturday Heineken Open Series continued.

COMMITTEE CUP - Well done to Noel McKenna on his first big win in the club, taking this year’s Committee Cup. Noel confined his fine form from his first 18 holes to the 9 hole playoff on Sunday evening and received the Cup at a presentation in the clubhouse immediately afterwards.
MEN’S THURSDAY COMPETITION 10/5/24 - 1st Shane O’Dowd 29 points, 2nd Michael McHale 26, 3rd Michael O’Dowd 24. There was no 2s club winner. INTERCLUBS - Best of luck to our men’s Seniors team captained by Michael Simon who play Rosses Point in the 1st round of the Fred Perry Cup on Thursday the 16th and also to our men’s Pierce Purcell Tournament team captained by Shane O’Dowd who take on Strandhill on Saturday the 18th. Commiserations to our 9 hole Interclub team who were beaten by Dunmore last week.

THE Late Kevin Doherty.
IT is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Kevin Doherty, Cootehall, Boyle, Co. Roscommon (former Solicitor and Leitrim County Registrar) May 3rd 2024. Peacefully, in the tender care of the staff of Sligo University Hospital, following a brief illness. Kevin is predeceased by his parents James and Maureen and his dear brother Seán. Kevin will be sadly missed by his adoring and devoted wife Jacinta (Jessie), his loving brother Colm (Gort), and sisters Ann (Neary), Maria (Joyce) (Ballinrobe), and Philomena (Mena), also by his sisters-in-law Maura and Rita, brothers-in-law Donal Neary, John Joyce and Kevin Connolly. Kevin was adored by his many nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins and by his many great neighbours and friends. KEVIN was a lifelong member of our golf club and very popular with all of the members. We extend our deepest sympathy to his wife Jacinta (Jessie) Trustee of the club and to all of Kevin’s Family. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
DAMIEN Murphy Memorial Cup Results. OVER 120 players both Ladies and Gents took part in the Damien Murphy Memorial Cup Last weekend. Congrats to all the winners. The following are the results.
