TRACTOR RUN THANK YOU

A huge thank you to all those who came out to support the Riverstown annual tractor run held on Easter Monday. Thank you to the volunteers and stewards who helped out on the day and to all involved in organising the refreshmen­ts in the Teach Ceoil and all who donated raffle prizes. Approximat­ely €4,000 was raised for local causes and proceeds were distribute­d as follows: €1,500 to Riverstown Tidy Towns; €1,500 to Riverstown Community Games and €500 Riverstown Community First Responder Training. The outstandin­g amount will be used for upkeep and maintenanc­e of local defibrilla­tors. The event was a great success and well done to all involved.

COMMUNITY GAMES

Local Community Games Athletics will take place on Sunday,

May 26, starting with a fancy dress parade leaving Aurivo at 1.30 p.m. followed by track and field events at 2 p.m. in Riverstown Community Park. COUNTY FLEADH

Sligo County Fleadh Official Opening and concert will take place on Friday, May 31, in Easkey Community Centre at 7.30 p.m. This free event will feature the Glór Na Dtonn céilí Band, Bróga Bríomhar Dance School, Tireragh CCÉ performanc­e group and the Donagher Family.

STAKEHOLDE­R MEETING

The Sligo Bay Catchment Rivers Trust invites you to a Stakeholde­rs’ Meeting for the Ballisodar­e Catchment which will be held on Thursday, June 6, at 7.30 p.m. in the Sligo Park Hotel. This catchment includes Ballisodar­e Bay, Ballisodar­e River, Owenmore River, Templehous­e Lake, River Unshin, Lough Arrow, Owenbeg River and other smaller waterbodie­s. Speakers and representa­tives attending include ASSAP, LAWPRO, Catchment Assessment Team, EPA, Coillte and Sligo County Council Climate Action Officer. The most important part of the meeting is for you to share your views and concerns about the issues concerning your own waterbodie­s. You may also be able to suggest ways of resolving any current problems and preventing others from occurring in the future. GET IN STEP SUMMER CAMP

Bróga Bríomhar Dance School will be holding their Get in Step summer Camp for Teenagers (13- to 16-year-olds) on Tuesday, July 9, and Wednesday, July 10, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Cost is €35 per person. Summer camp for children (four- to 12-year-olds) will run from Monday, July 8, to Friday, July 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is €80 per person. Both camps will be held in the Morrison Cottage, Riverstown and require a €20 non-refundable deposit to secure place. Booking is essential as there are limited places available. The annual James Morrison Festival will take place in Riverstown from Friday, August 2, to Monday, August 5. More details to follow.
