What is the concept behind Bartley’s restaurant?

Bartley’s Restaurant brings a completely new dining option to the Dublin food scene. The restaurant has its own unique identity beyond The Grafton Hotel.

With a decorated and atmospheric dining room, and a genuinely exciting food menu, we offer one of the trendiest restaurants in the city to both our hotel guests, and the wider Dublin public. What considerations were taken into account when you were devising your menu? Our carefully selected food menu consists of exciting takes on classic dishes like our delicious corn-fed chicken and succulent fillet steak, as well as our chef’s specialty bowling menu, which boasts a range of nutritious and ethically sourced world dishes. This specialty menu has been designed to offer our customers an exciting introduction to alternative food choices. These dishes are rich in flavours, texture and energy, and are perfectly suitable for vegetarian and vegan diners.

Additionally, we offer a bar food menu for diners seeking out a more relaxed experience. Our Grafton Burger has become a favourite, and has been extremely popular with our patrons watching the Six Nations Rugby games!

Our Food and Beverage team worked tirelessly on all aspects of our menu before we opened our doors last year and this is true of our wine list as well. Bartley’s delectable wine menu is complete with renowned favourites, as well as offering the trendiest wines on the market from a vast array of regions, and is sure to impress even the fussiest of connoisseurs.

Can you tell us about your ‘Bowling’ menu?

Our Bowling Menu is just as eclectic as our interior! We have a range of dishes on this menu which come from different parts of the world and many different cultures. We love the idea of offering an introduction to different world and Eastern dishes to our diners with the likes of our Grafton Rainbowl and Falafel dishes. It allows us to provide a modern and alternative menu, while maintaining the high quality and palatable nature of the more ‘traditional’ dishes on our menu. And of course, we offer the dishes on our Bowling Menu with nutritious protein options.

Expectations for the quality of hotel food have increased significantly in recent years. Are you noticing this?

Without a doubt. The variety and options available to people is increasing more and more with time and there are so many different styles and cultures even in Dublin alone. We make a conscious effort every day to provide well sourced and high quality food so that we can deliver a delicious and modern food menu for our diners. We keep a close relationship with the best suppliers around to make sure we can maintain this level across the board. We’re food lovers just like our guests after all! So we know how important it is to have an upto-date menu with nutritious and quality food.

Any dining trends we should be alert to?

I think as you said, the expectation to deliver high quality food continues to grow and we can see this more and more. People are more in tune than ever with the food and products they consume and we can see this in the popularity of our bowling menu among vegan and vegetarian guests at Bartley’s.

For us, it’s very much about consistency. Our hotel, our bar and our late lounge The Scaredy Cat are all quite unique, and from their appearance to their offerings are all energetic, eye-catching and eclectic. Bartley’s menu is like the voice for this - it is comprised of so many different elements, but each one is carefully thought out and greatly executed with our guests in mind.
