ONE OF EAMON’S FEW LINES WITHOUT THE ‘F’ WORD

It’s ten years since Eamon Jonathan Doyle - a Staten Island New Yorker of Irish and Italian descent - achieved his 15 minutes of fame with his debut single and only hit. ‘F**k It, I Don’t Want You Back’ made number one in many countries, including Ireland, the UK, Australia, Germany and Sweden, no doubt helped by the controversy surrounding the loaded-with-expletives lyrics. As well as topping many charts it also earned Eamon a place in the Guinness Book of Records for ‘most expletives in a No. 1 song’ (33). The track prompted fellow Staten Island singer Frankee (Nicole Francine Aiello) to release an ‘answer’ song to the same tune, ‘F.U.R.B. (F**k You Right Back’) which also made number one in the UK. Frankee claimed to be the ex-girlfriend that inspired Eamon’s song but it was later revealed that she had lied - the two had never met. Eamon wasn’t concerned - a licensing arrangement meant he made thousands of dollars from her single. Since then, neither Eamon nor Frankee have really troubled the charts.
