Man allegedly exposed himself to nine-year-old girl
A MAN who allegedly exposed himself to a nine-year-old girl in his parents’ bedroom made a brief appearance at Gorey District Court on October 6.
The man in his mid-20s came to court after instructing his solicitor Lana Doherty to enter a guilty plea to the charge of sexual exploitation.
The summary of evidence provided by Garda Sergeant Victor Isdell informed Judge Gerard Haughton that the defendant had pulled down the girl’s clothes.
Ms Doherty stated that, in the wake of what occurred, her client undertook 46 one hour sessions with a psychologist.
The judge put the matter back to December 8 to allow the child’s parents an opportunity give him a victim impact report. A MAN brought from Arbour Hill Prison to face charges of sexual assault on another male dating back more than 10 years at Gorey District Court had his case adjourned until December 8.
Solicitor David Tarrant confirmed that his client, aged in his 40s, was already in custody on a different matter and that reporting conditions should apply.
Formal evidence of arrest charge and caution was given by Garda Brenda Shanahan.
Garda Sergeant Victor Isdell confirmed that DPP directed trial on indictment in a higher court and was granted the adjournment to allow preparation of a book of evidence.
