The Environment Group were delighted to have our Village trail selected for the Opening of this year’s festival. A large group of walkers descended on the village on Friday evening and enjoyed their visit to the area. It began with a visit to the Lifeboat, followed by a guided walk around the village and a reception at the Maritime Museum. The festival organisers were very high in their praise of this opening event. Our thanks to all who contributed.

TIDY TOWNS RESULTS

The adjudicators report for this year’s competition was very fulsome in praise of the work being done in the village and in the overall presentation of the area. This, in spite of the obvious drawbacks of the ‘empty/derelict/rundown properties in the village’.

Our thanks to everybody who keep their properties and gardens looking so well. That alone is a significant contribution.
