The Wexford Branch of Down Syndrome Ireland would like to thank everyone who gave so generously to their recent church gate collection at St John the Baptist Church, The Ballagh. The amount collected and banked was €305.95.

Thanks also to the collectors for their time and help. Every cent collected locally will remain in the Wexford branch to be used for the benefit of Down Syndrome children and adults.

BOOK FAIR

The book fair will take place in the Ballagh school on November 21, 22 and 23. Pupils will have an opportunit­y to look at the books during school on Friday, November 17, and a brochure will be sent home with every child. The book fair will be open to pupils on Tuesday, November 21, and Thursday, November 23, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The book fair will also be open for parents and pupils on Wednesday, November 22, from 7.30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and the school calendar (2018) will also be launched on this evening.

The school calendar will be a fantastic keepsake for the years ahead as well as being an excellent Christmas gift for family and friends. Prices are €8 for one, €15 for two and €20 for three calendars. Tea and coffee will be served and all are welcome to attend.

COOKERY DEMONSTRAT­ION

In conjunctio­n with Oulart-The Ballagh camogie club sponsor (Corrigan’s Spar and Family Butchers and Super Chips), the well – known chef and food writer Edward Hayden will give a cookery demonstrat­ion in the Riverside Hotel, Enniscorth­y at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28.
