Pongo con­tin­ues in the Kitchen in Glynn Hall on the first Tues­day of ev­ery month at 8 p.m. Come along and en­joy the fun. The an­nual par­ish Christ­mas Bazaar will take place on Sun­day, De­cem­ber 17, af­ter 10 a.m. Mass – more de­tails to fol­low soon. Save the date in your di­ary.


Con­grat­u­la­tions to John Joe Doyle, the lucky win­ner of last week’s split-the-pot, who pock­eted €115. Barn­town Par­ish split­the-pot con­tin­ues weekly – watch out for the boxes on shop coun­ters at the fol­low­ing lo­ca­tions; C & D Providers, O’Brien’s Londis Larkin’s Cross, Saucy Butcher Clonard, Killeens Ser­vice Sta­tion, JJ Byrnes, Joyces Ex­pert, Barn­town par­ish of­fice, Mary Jo’s and the Sail­ing Cot and of course the church it­self. Only €2 to en­ter. The pot is grow­ing ev­ery week.

Peter Byrne Award – Darra Casey. Pat O’Leary Award – Katie Doyle. Tony Greene Award – Gra­cie Ke­hoe. Paul Ke­hoe Award – Aoife Cloke Rochford. Spe­cial Merit Awards – Ciara Laf­fan and Keira Wil­son. Well done to all and a big Well done to Lea Bol­ger, who won a bronze medal in 60m at the Cushin­stown, Co Meath Open Sports last week­end.


Fri­day the 08th is the feast of the Im­mac­u­late Con­cep­tion. Masses are at 7 p.m. on Thurs­day and 10 a.m. on Fri­day.

Sun­day, De­cem­ber 17, at 11 a.m. is the Bam­binelli Sun­day (bless­ing the Christ Child). Each child will re­ceive a small crib which will be blessed at the Mass. A festive morn­ing at the school will fol­low the Mass.

Christ­mas Mass times: 9 p.m. at Christ­mas Eve and 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Christ­mas Day.

Con­grat­u­la­tions to Cora Doyle, who won the GAA Hand­ball 40X20 Ir­ish Na­tion­als Ladies B Sin­gles in Sligo on Satur­day af­ter­noon beat­ing Aoife Tully (Roscom­mon) in her fi­nal.


Glynn-Barn­town camo­gie com­mit­tee and club ex­tends it’s deep­est sym­pa­thies to Julie Kearney and fam­ily at the pass­ing of her grand­mother Ann En­nis re­cently. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.


Our Ju­nior bal­lad group per­formed bril­liantly on Fri­day night in the county fi­nal of Scór na nÓg – un­for­tu­nately they didn’t go through to the next stage but the club was de­lighted to be rep­re­sented so well by them. Well done Aoib­hinn, Emma, Cliodhna, Kate and Em­me­line and An­nette for all her ef­forts in pre­par­ing the girls.


Hard luck to our un­der-15 hurlers de­feated by Ou­lart-The Bal­lagh in the Martin Storey Tour­na­ment on Sun­day.

CLUB GEAR – Glynn-Barn­town club gear shop open this Wed­nes­day 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. Shorts, sko­rts, shin­guards, socks, half zips, jer­seys, crew necks, wet gear and track bot­toms in stock in most sizes.


Our Senior AGM was held on Fri­day, Novem­ber 24, and all pre­vi­ous of­fi­cers were re­turned. We look for­ward to the new sea­son with great an­tic­i­pa­tion.

Con­grat­u­la­tions to our un­der-21 foot­ballers who de­feated Oyle­gate-Glen­brien on Satur­day af­ter­noon in cham­pi­onship.

NEW CLUB LOTTO – First draw 2017/18 – Num­bers drawn were 2, 17, 20 and 22. No jack­pot win­ner. Three match-three win­ners – Con Flem­ing, Johnny McDon­ald and Tom O’Brien. Next draw in Mary Jo’s on Wed­nes­day, De­cem­ber 13. Jack­pot €7.200. Thanks to ev­ery­one for sup­port with our club’s big­gest an­nual fundraiser. Well done lotto com­mit­tee and our many ded­i­cated sell­ers.

SPORTS CAP­I­TAL GRANT – We are de­lighted to hear Glynn-Barn­town will re­ceive €55,000 in grants from the Sports Cap­i­tal Fund. Well done to Conor and the de­vel­op­ment com­mit­tee and all in­volved in mak­ing this hap­pen.

LADIES FOOTBALL – The ladies’ football AGM took place on Tues­day evening in the club­house.
