Gardaí unearth ‘cannabis grow house’
GARDAI uncovered a cannabis grow house during a search of a house and stables in the Galbally area.
Drugs unit officers called to the property in Galbally, Ballyhogue last Tuesday and seized 25 mature plants with an estimated street value of €17,000 growing under artificial lighting.
The operation was carried out on foot of a search warrant and a garda investigation is ongoing.
On the same day, gardai searched a house in Spawell Road in Wexford town and seized a quantity of cannabis herb and pollen valued at €1,000 along with a digital weighing scales and bags.
A man in his late twenties was questioned in relation to the discovery and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Last Friday, €500 worth of cannabis resin and €150 worth of cocaine were found by gardai during a search of a house in Corish Park.
Two males in their late twenties and early thirties were questions in connection with the find.
