Gar­daí un­earth ‘cannabis grow house’

GAR­DAI un­cov­ered a cannabis grow house dur­ing a search of a house and sta­bles in the Gal­bally area.

Drugs unit of­fi­cers called to the prop­erty in Gal­bally, Bal­ly­hogue last Tues­day and seized 25 ma­ture plants with an es­ti­mated street value of €17,000 grow­ing un­der ar­ti­fi­cial light­ing.

The op­er­a­tion was car­ried out on foot of a search war­rant and a garda in­ves­ti­ga­tion is on­go­ing.

On the same day, gar­dai searched a house in Spawell Road in Wex­ford town and seized a quan­tity of cannabis herb and pollen val­ued at €1,000 along with a dig­i­tal weigh­ing scales and bags.

A man in his late twen­ties was ques­tioned in re­la­tion to the dis­cov­ery and a file is be­ing pre­pared for the Di­rec­tor of Public Pros­e­cu­tions.

Last Fri­day, €500 worth of cannabis resin and €150 worth of co­caine were found by gar­dai dur­ing a search of a house in Cor­ish Park.

Two males in their late twen­ties and early thir­ties were ques­tions in con­nec­tion with the find.
