Post office robbery: appeal for culprit
GARDAÍ are making progress with their investigation into the attempted robbery at Foulksmills Post Office in mid-April.
On the afternoon of Tuesday, April 17, postmistress Caroline Foxe was speaking to an 83-year-old customer when a disguised armed robber attempted to steal cash from her business. The man, standing 6ft tall, pushed a green bag over the counter and told Caroline to put the money in the bag, but she resisted. Having demanded money three more times, he eventually gave up and left.
Superintendent John McDonald said: ‘The investigation into the robbery is continuing. We want to thank everybody who has helped us. We are progressing with the investigation but have more enquiries to make.’
