Tractors raise trailer load of cash for MRI

-

A COUNTYWIDE tractor run, held in Enniscorthy, raised a total of €8,110 for the MRI Now campaign which, in recent weeks, has seen a huge influx of money that has set it well on its way to reaching its €250,000 goal.

The event had over 300 tractors taking part, leaving from Enniscorthy Mart and taking in Ferns and Ballycarney on a 20km loop.

The run was held on the same day as the Hope and Dream 10, which the MRI Now campaign is also benefitting from and many of its participants stopped by to support the run.

Organiser Pat Monaghan said it had been a special event as all of the clubs around Wexford had come together for this one cause.

He added that they had not expected the reaction that they got.

‘We didn’t think we would hit the €8,000 mark so we were delighted with that.’

The cheque was presented to members of the MRI Now campaign at Whitford House Hotel.
