U-15s had a ball on trip to Scotland

-

WEXFORD F.C. Under-15s and the Under-11 Academy lads, both managed by Mark Doran, took advantage of an opportunity for a trip over the water to Scotland on the May Bank Holiday weekend to play some good opposition.

The lads flew over Friday and, not long after they landed, the Under-15 side found themselves in action against Hutchison Vale, a feeder club for local side Hibernian.

They went 4-0 up before tired legs saw them pegged back to 4-3, but a good run-out was had by all.

Confidence was flowing as Wexford’s youngest League of Ireland side played superbly in a 10-0 rout of local under-age stronghold Spartans.

Meanwhile, the Under-11 academy also got game action, winning two of their three games.

As well as performing on the pitch, the travelling party took in the Hearts versus Celtic game at Tynecastle.

They were also treated to a tour of Hibernian’s Easter Road ground before flying back home after a fantastic three days on Sunday evening.

The Under-15 side are arguably the most exciting of the Wexford teams at the moment, and they will play at home twice this week, on Wednesday evening against Carlow/Kilkenny and at the weekend against Cobh Ramblers.
