-

Premier DIvision

Tombrack United earned themselves a second bite of the cherry, with a 94th-minute equaliser salvaging a share of the spoils with New Ross Celtic in their Premier Division clash on Sunday.

Jamie Walshe grabbed the last-gasp leveller for the visitors, after Eoin Rhodes had scored for the Barrowsiders.

The teams now meet again at Shamrock Rovers’ ground next Sunday to determine who will drop to Division 1 and who will have another chance to survive when they face Forth Celtic in the relegation/promotion play-off.

Both sides had picked up three points last Wednesday evening, with Tombrack beating Gorey Celtic 3-2 and New Ross Celtic overcoming Gorey Rangers 4-1.

Richie O’Hara, James Coleman and Darragh Hendrick got the goals for Tombrack, with Matty Kavanagh scoring twice for the north county men. Alan Rhodes, Eoin Rhodes (two) and Rory O’Connor scored for Ross Celtic.

On the same evening, Corach Ramblers drew 1-1 with Moyne Rangers, with the point turning out to be enough to keep the Danescastle-based side in the division.

Niall Harney got the goal for Ramblers, with Seán Burke hitting the back of the net for Moyne.

At the other end of the table, Shamrock Rovers chalked up an impressive 5-2 win over Courtown Hibs on Thursday evening to move to within a point of leaders North End United, although the Sky Blues do have a game in hand on their rivals.

Eoin McDonald and Dan Carroll both netted doubles for the Enniscorthy outfit, with Josh Mythen-Hogan grabbing their other goal.

Hibs beat Corach Ramblers 3-0 on Sunday, with James Fleming, Graham Greene and Edmund Prudskjs getting on the scoresheet, while Moyne Rangers saw off Gorey Rangers 4-1, with the goals coming from Pa O’Shea, James Peare, Peter Marsden and 17-year old Lee Jordan, who scored a 25-yard free-kick on his first team debut.
