Delegates attend vaccine seminar

-

MEMBERS OF the Wexford branch of the support organisation, Regret, were among those in attendance at a recent seminar in Dublin for people concerned about the possible side effects of the HPV vaccine.

Commenting on the event to this newspaper, Valerie Roche, said it was a very productive seminar with the expert speakers providing valuable information for the attendees.

Ms Roche is a member of Regret in Wexford and she said the seminar in Dublin was very informative and educational especially in terms of supports for people who have displayed side-effects after receiving the vaccine.

‘It was an amazing weekend and a real eye opener because of the information we received with regard to treatment options available in Denmark,’ said Ms Roche.

‘The Danish government has set up five centres of excellence to treat girls, run by Dr Jesper Mehlson,’ she added.

The Dublin conference was organised by the International Federation for Injured Children and Adults (IFICA). Seven delegates from the Wexford branch of Regret were in attendance and they joined hundreds more from around the country to hear people like Dr Sin Hang Lee, who has lectured at McGill and Yale Universities and who is one of the world’s leading pathologists, talk on the subject.
