COMPUTER SKILLS COURSE

Oulart Active Retirement is organising a Digital Skills Course, beginning on Friday, June 1. The venue is the Cosher Centre Kilmuckrid­ge. This is a two-hour course for five Fridays, and the times are 1.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. each Friday. Areas covered will include basic computer skills, internet and email, social media, online banking and shopping, safety and security. There is no fee for the course, and all equipment will be supplied. The course is open to non-members but numbers are limited. For further informatio­n contact 087 6166647.

OULART ICA.

At the recent AGM of Oulart ICA the outgoing president, Anne Byrne and outgoing treasurer, Betty Rossiter were returned for another year while secretary Anne O’Connor will serve for two more years.

Mrs Margaret Roche was welcomed back after an absence through illness and the Guild Quiz team members were congratula­ted on their fine performanc­e in the all-Ireland Quiz in An Grianán. The Demonstrat­ion for the May meeting will be the art of Patchwork and the competitio­n for that meeting will be a small floral display to suit a breakfast tray.

Oulart ICA has 20 members and the monthly meeting is held on the third Monday of the month. New members are always welcome to join the guild.

PARISH PATRONS

The annual patron and blessing of graves will take place in Oulart on Sunday, June 24, and in the Ballagh on the following Sunday, July 1, at 2 p.m.

SPLIT-THE-POT

Congratula­tions to Noel Doyle the latest winner of Scoil Mochua’s split-the-pot who won €115. The next draw will be held on Monday, May 21. Entry envelopes are available in local businesses. Míle buíochas to all who support this weekly fundraiser for the Oulart primary school.

POLLING STATION CHANGE

In the Referendum on May 25 voting in Oulart will take place in the local Community Centre and not in Scoil Mochua as used to be the case. The Polling Station will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

GAA NURSERY/TRAINING

Oulart-The Ballagh GAA and camogie club Nursery and Training got off to a great start on Friday, May 4, and will continue every Friday, 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.

FOOTGOLF

Keep Saturday, June 16, free for a Footgolf Fundraiser at Blackwater in aid of Oulart-The Ballagh camogie club and underage hurling.

GAA FIXTURES/RESULTS

The junior hurlers are at home to Ballyhogue on Tuesday, May 15, at 8 p.m. The primary schools’ team had a comprehens­ive win over Ferns in the Rackard League (six goals 10 points to three points) and their next match is against Duffry Rovers. Our Intermedia­te hurlers defeated Ballygarre­tt on a scoreline of two goals21 points to 14 points and the junior camogie team beat Oylegate by nine goals 11 points to two goals four points.

CONGRATULA­TIONS

Well done to Darragh Hayes and Billy Dunne, who have been selected on the Wexford under-17 hurling team and to Jim Finn and Aaron Byrne, who play on the Celtic Challenge team. Siobhán Sinnott and Miria O’Dowd represente­d Wexford on the under-16 camogie team that won the A shield. Thanks to Sarah O’Dowd and Siobhán Sinnott for volunteeri­ng to referee at the under-10 camogie blitz. Well done also to Euan Kennedy and Aaron Doyle, members of Enniscorth­y under-15 Rugby team in the Leinster Rugby Finals.
