SYMPATHY

News of the unexpected death of Eamonn Butler has caused deep shock and sadness over the whole parish and surroundin­g area.

Eamonn (46) of Pairc Naomi Pádraig, Rosslare Harbour, passed away on April 30. He was the beloved eldest son of Eileen and Noel, St Brendan’s Estate, and much loved brother to Helen, Dermot, Alice, Noel, Sandra and Clare.

Eamonn will be remembered as a very genuine quiet guy. He worked with Stena Line Ferries for many years and up till his passing, he was a valued member of the staff at Hotel Rosslare where he is sadly missed by all his colleagues.

Eamonn was laid to rest in St Aidan’s Cemetery, Kilrane after funeral Mass in St Patrick’s Church celebrated by Fr Diarmuid Desmond. Deepest sympathy to his parents, brothers, sisters, Uncles, Aunts, in laws, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Emma Carr and Danika Gilshinan were in action at the National Loreto Schools Track and field in Santry last Thursday where Emma was second in the Junior Long Jump and third in the 200m, Danika was fourth in both the intermedia­te 800m and 1500m.

Then the next day was day one of the South Leinster Schools Track and Field Championsh­ips where Emma was in action again in the Junior Long Jump and 200m along with Bonnie Murphy in the Minor Long Jump and High Jump both representi­ng Loreto Wexford and Ciara Martin representi­ng Presentati­on Wexford in the Junior 800m, all three girls compteded well but were just outside the medals.

The Wexford County Track and Field Championsh­ips are set for Sunday, May 13, and May 27 at the track in Enniscorth­y.

RNLI COASTAL WALK

The now annual Rosslare RNLI 16km Coastal Walk/Run from Rosslare Harbour to Carne and back to Rosslare Harbour will take place on Saturday, May 26, at 10 a.m. The starting and finishing point will be the car park at the Rosslare Harbour beach. (shorter distances optional).

Registrati­on will commence from 9.15 a.m. Please note the terrain on the day will be a combinatio­n of sand, rock and seaweed. Entry fee: Adult: €10 – Students/Teenagers: €5 – under-12s: Free. This will be a timed event.

GALA CONCERT

KRH Tops Community Group will host a Gala Concert in aid of parish funds and Community Events on Thursday, June 14, at 7.30 p.m. in St Patrick’s Church. All money raised will go to Church/parish funds and the community summer Festival George Lawlor, Tony Carty, Bride Street Folk Group, The Keane Sisters, Fintan Cleary, Emma Hore, Denis Comerford and Ron O’Rourke, and senior and junior members of KRH Tops Group will be performing. An evening of beautiful music and song is promised and tickets are €10 and available from cast members or on the door on the nigh.t.
