Honours for top students after Bride Street Mass
THE STUDENTS of St Peter’s College enjoyed their end of year awards ceremony, where a number of students were honoured for achievements throughout the year.
Bishop Denis Brennan was the principal celebrant for the Mass which took place in Bride Street Church on Thursday night. He encouraged the students to use the gifts they had been given and be open to new things that came their way in life.
School principal Robert O’Callaghan said the day was a celebration of all of the special things that made up St Peter’s College.
‘It is an opportunity to acknowledge academic excellence throughout the school and also recognise the broad range of extra-curricular activities that are an essential part of the college. This holistic combination is the essence of what St Peter’s is about.
‘So I want to thank all the students for their hard work throughout the year and I want to sincerely thank the staff for their ongoing commitment and dedication to our boys.’
A selection of academic and extra-curricular awards were presented.
This year’s Student of the Year was Dean O’Brien. The other nominees were Aaron Breen, Eoin O’Leary, Eoin Pinaqui, Shane Doyle and Ben Maddock.
