SOCIAL EVENING

A Social Evening will be held at Mary Teresa Redmond’s, Mill View, Foulksmill­s on Saturday, June 30, Starting at 4 p.m. and continuing on till 9 p.m.

There will be choral, traditiona­l and folk music/singing with some comedy acts also. Children will be entertaine­d with a puppet show, a bouncy castle and face painting throughout the afternoon. Tea and coffee and delicious home baking will be served on the lawn. Admission is by donation. There will be a monster raffle on the day with numerous prizes.

All proceeds are in aid of Co. Wexford Community Workshop. (Enniscorth­y).

DANCING

Dancing continues every Thursday night in Tír na nÓg with music on Thursday, June 21, by Tom Murphy’s band and June 28 by Johnny Mullen from Westmeath.

Upcoming Events in Grantstown Community Village – Tuesday the 19th: Imaginatio­n Gym or Sonas/Cards/Exercise with Vero in the morning and Pongo in the afternoon. Wednesday the 20th: Pongo/Reiki in the morning and music with the Two Paddies in the afternoon. Thursday the 21st: We are delighted that children from Ballymitty national school will be coming in the morning. There will also be Pongo and Betty Kehoe will give a talk on food waste in the afternoon. Monday the 25th: Exercises with Mairead/Cards/ Flowers in the morning and Pongo in the afternoon.

Art Class: Working with Clay – 10-week class starting Tuesday, July 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Grantstown Daycare Centre. The classes are free of charge as they are funded by Wexford County Council. If you are interested in joining phone us at 051 561016.

COFFEE MORNING THANKS

Thanks to everyone who supported the recent coffee morning and cake sale in aid of the Irish Cancer Society in Carrig hall. A total of €2,600 was raised.

HISTORICAL SOCIRTY

Bannow Historical Society will host a talk in Tír na nÓg, Wellington­bridge, this Wednesday night, June 20, at 8.30 p.m. The talk will be about the Norman landing in Bannow in 1169, other areas of the parish will also be discussed.

This year’s historical tour is on Saturday, July 14, and will visit Woodstock House Inistioge, St Mary’s Church Gowran and Walsh distillery Royal Oak Carlow. The tour will leave Ballymitty school car park at 9 a.m. Enquiries and bookings can be made by contacting 086 8469131 or 087 0925853.

GAA FIXTURES

Tonight our footballer­s travel to Rathgarogu­e-Cushinstow­n with an 8 p.m. throw in for an All County Football league fixture while this Saturday Junior B hurling championsh­ip returns with a home tie against Clonard. The first whistle here is at 6.30 p.m. Good luck to all players and management.

COMMUNITY COFFEE SHOP

We are delighted to announce that we will re-open on Monday, July 2, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. We will have all the usual beautiful home-baked cakes, tarts, jams, etc. We will also have our ‘Good as New Shop’ so if you have been spring cleaning and have any items, bric-à-brac, books, we would be delighted with them. ST PAUL’S AC

We had three of our young athletes competing last Saturday in glorious sunshine in Tullamore in the Leinster Pairs and under-12 – under-13 Championsh­ips. Artem Kelly and Elijah Page Redmond made up the under-10 Team they competed in the Turbo Javelin and 60m Spint. They were second in the Turbo Javelin and sixth in the Sprint. They now go through to the all-Ireland Pairs in July.

Lucas Page Redmond competed in the under-12 600m and Spot Putt. Congratula­tions to all three. This weekend is the Leinster under-12 – under-19 Track and Filed Championsh­ips held over the two days Saturday and Sunday. We wish all our athletes competing the best of luck.

The County B Championsh­ips will take place on Friday, June 22, at 6.30 p.m. at the Track in Enniscorth­y. Our end-of-season barbecue will take place at the Track in Rosslare on Saturday, June 30, more details to follow.

CÚL CAMP 2018

This year’s Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camp for both boys and girls covering Football, Hurling and camogie will take place in St Anne’s GAA Club Grounds from Monday, July 16, to Friday, July 20. Children will get to learn GAA games from qualified coaches in a safe and fun environmen­t. Children from six to 13 years.

TABLE QUIZ
