A Very Sincere Thank You: To Mgr. Denis, Fr Barry and all the people of the parish for the lovely Farewell Party on Friday, June 8, last. SVP Collection: Saint Vincent de Paul summer collection will take place at all Masses on the weekend of June 23 and 24. Your generosity will help ease the difficulti­es of many families in our parish. If you miss the collection, we would appreciate if you could leave your donation into the parish office. People From the Parish Can Attend the Papal Mass: The parish is organising two busses to attend the Papal Mass in the Phoenix Park on Sunday, August 26, Bookings can be made through the parish office from Monday, June 18, A small fee of €15 towards the cost of the bus will apply. All events around the Papal visit are ticketed; however tickets are not available till June 25 We will announce further details as they come in. Ladies the end of year has come upon us, but don’t be sad, we will be having our party night on Thursday, June 21, at 7.30 p.m. in Coolcotts Community Centre. Piercestow­n ARA CLUB NEWS

Kenmare Weekend – Piercestow­n-Murrintown ARA are organising a weekend in the Kenmare Bay Hotel, Kenmare on August 27 three nights Dinner Bed and breakfast. Tours organised for Tuesday and Wed returning home Thursday. €280 per person sharing. Single Room Supp €15 per night per person. TEEN TENNIS LEAGUE

Rosslare Harbour SYMPATHY

We extend sympathy to the Williams family, Greenore Park, Rosslare Harbour, on the death of George which occurred on June 7 George’s funeral service was held in St Enoch’s Church, Killinick with cremation in Mount Jerome Crematoriu­m. He is sadly missed by his wife Ann, family Laura, Rhonda and Roger, grandson Jay, sister Clare, relatives and friends.

Condolence­s also to the O’Connor and McLaughlin families on the death of Pádraig (Paud) O’Connor, Howth and formerly of Rosslare Harbour.

ST PAUL’S AC

We had three of our young athletes competing last Saturday in glorious sunshine in Tullamore in the Leinster Pairs and under-12 – under-13 Championsh­ips. Artem Kelly and Elijah Page Redmond made up the under-10 Team they competed in the Turbo Javelin and 60m Sprint. They were second in the Turbo Javelin and sixth in the Sprint. They now go through to the all-Ireland Pairs in July. Lucas Page Redmond competed in the under-12 600m and Spot Putt. Congratula­tions to all three.

This weekend is the Leinster under-12 – under-19 Track and Field Championsh­ips held over the two days Saturday and Sunday. We wish all our athletes competing the best of luck.

The County B Championsh­ips will take place on Friday, June 22, at 6.30 p.m. at the Track in Enniscorth­y.

Our end of season barbecue will take place at the Track in Rosslare on Saturday, June 30, more details to follow.

ST MARY’S GAA

In the semi-final on Tuesday last. A close first half but things didn’t go our way in the second. Well done boys and keep up the good work.

Our new nursery for boys and girls has started on Saturdays from 10 to 11a. Overseeing it is JJ Doyle, county selector. Come along for fun and games in what promises to be a great introducti­on to Gaelic games. All welcome.
