Wex­ford’s 11th an­nual Art in the Open, Europe’s largest plein air fes­ti­val, is get­ting ready to wel­come up to 200 artists from all over Ire­land and the world to paint at stun­ning lo­ca­tions in­clud­ing Duncannon, Ar­tra­mon House, Clone­gal and Hunt­ing­ton Cas­tle, Ross­lare Har­bour, Bun­clody and Ne­town­barry House and Wex­ford town from July 29 to Au­gust 6.

You can be­come a pa­tron of the fes­ti­val for €50 which in­cludes an in­vi­ta­tion for you and a com­pan­ion to at­tend the AITO ex­hi­bi­tion pre­view wine re­cep­tion in Greenacres, Sel­skar and if you de­cide to buy one of the paint­ings on show, you will re­ceive €50 back off the pur­chase price.

‘Ei­ther way you are sup­port­ing a fes­ti­val which is non-profit, run by vol­un­teers, cre­ates no noise lit­ter or traf­fic jams and gen­er­ates 1500 bed nights for the lo­cal econ­omy ev­ery year’, said event man­ager Alma Hynes.
