SPLIT THE POT

CAMOGIE

Our under-12 Green camogie team travelled to Bunclody on Tuesday for their fourth league match. Staying true to form, the girls pulled together to win the game.

Our Senior camogie girls were unfortunat­ely defeated by St Ibar’s on Tuesday evening. Despite dominating large patches of play for the entire game the girls trailed 3-3 to 1-4 at half time and finished up with a final score 4-6 to 2-10 in St Ibar’s favour. Our scores came from Chloe 0-6 points (frees), Aoife Sheil 1-1, Emma Dempsey 1-0, Emma Walsh 0-2 (frees), Laura Dempsey 0-1.

Our Junior team also suffered a loss on Wednesday evening at the hands of Bunclody.

Well done to our under-16s team who defeated Rathnure on Thursday in Killurin.

CONGRATULA­TIONS

Huge congratula­tions to under-14 camogie star Caitlin Hunt, who is one of just 10 national entries shortliste­d in the Liberty Insurance ‘Camogie Made Us 2018’ competitio­n. In doing so Caitlin has already bagged €500 for Glynn-Barntown camogie club and should she come out on top in the competitio­n will win an amazing €7,000 for the club. Caitlin and her teammates and coaches were busy putting their final video entry together during the week which has been submitted to the judges. COISTE NA NOG

Our under-13 footballer­s were beaten by Bannow at quarter final stage last Tuesday evening. Well done to our under-15 hurlers who had a 5-13 to 1-12 win over Fethard on Thursday.

SENIOR GAA

Our Senior hurlers had another defeat in championsh­ip against Naomh Eanna on Tuesday evening in Bellefield.

GROUNDS REDEVELOPM­ENT

Many of you will have heard of our exciting club-grounds developmen­t plan to include state-ofthe-art floodlight­ing for our top pitch along with much needed drainage of same.

This project will be funded in various ways including our upcoming countywide developmen­t draw which will require huge support and manpower from our club community. If you are interested in helping in this project please contact John at 087 2807679 or Danny 086 1089553. More details soon.

LADIES FOOTBALL

Our Ladies’ Football Club field day has been reschedule­d to Sunday, August 26, midday to 3 p.m. Please support.

TRAD NIGHT

Our Trad Night is going from strength to strength with a great turnout of musicians, singers, story tellers, mummers and a very well entertaine­d audience of all ages. Thanks to all who help out on these nights. The next date is Saturday, September 1 – all welcome to celebrate a night of tradition and culture.
