Woodsmen win All-Ireland

THE All-Ireland club final was held in Donegal, on Saturday, August 18. Here are the results from the final which was contested between the Woodsmen and Inishowen (from Donegal).

Final: John Crossan/Peter McLoughlin (Inishowen) beat Paddy Connors/Phil Mahon (Woodsmen) 21-20. Tom Connors/John Giltrap (Woodsmen) beat Bernard Tolin/Willie John McKiney (Inishowen) 21-16. Michael Redmond/Chris McDonald (Woodsmen) beat Charlie McLoughlin/ Martin Doherty (Inishowen) 18-11. Woodsmen Sub: Liam Bond

Eighteen marks were all that was required in the final game for the Woodsmen due to their lead after the first games. This was The Woodsmen’s ninth title and a big congratula­tions to them, and those involved. ALL-IRELAND DOUBLES

The All-Ireland doubles were held on the same weekend, in Donegal as the All Ireland club and county.

Final: John Crossan/Peter McLoughlin (Inishowen) beat Dennis Ryan/Paddy Byrne (Gouleyduff) 21-17.

Next Wednesday is the last night of the Wexford league.

Division 2 is already decided with Doran’s Bridge B and Curracloe meeting in the league final.

In Division 1, the Woodsmen have already qualified for the league final. Vinegar Hill and Doran’s Bridge A are only separated by one point in favour of the Bridge going into the final game... so it’s still anyone’s game going into the final night. Monart are out of contention.
