Gardai administer CPR to young woman in unresponsi­ve state

A YOUNG WOMAN remains in a serious condition in Wexford General Hospital after being found in an unresponsi­ve state in a laneway off South Main Street last Wednesday night.

The woman, who is in her early 30s, was discovered by passers-by and the Gardai were alerted at around 7 p.m. She was found on Man’s Lane, which links South Main Street to St Mary’s Lane.

Two young Gardai attended the scene where they administer­ed CPR to the woman for 20 minutes until the ambulance arrived. Insp. Denis Whelan commended both gardai for their efforts.

The woman was transferre­d to Wexford General Hospital where she is understood to be in a serious condition.
