Man had butterfly knife and quantity of cannabis

A MAN who was allegedly wielding a knife in the early hours of Sunday morning at George’s Street was arrested by Gardai.

At approximately 6.30 a.m. gardai observed a man taking a large blue butterfly knife out of his pocket. He was arrested and searched and cannabis, valued at €250, was also seized. The man had an outstanding bench warrant for his arrest. He was subsequently granted bail, to appear before the District Court shortly.
