Emmet is appointed a Peace Commissioner
LOCAL MAN Emmet Moloney has been appointed a Peace Commissioner for Wexford and adjoining counties.
Mr Moloney, the son of Joe and Phyllis Moloney, is a retail general store manager.
He said it was a great honour for him to take on the role which would allow him to carry out a wide range of duties including signing and witnessing signatures on documents by various authorities and organisations.
He said: ‘I am very happy to assist any individual or organisation should they require my assistance.’
Mr Moloney ran for election in 2016 with his main focus being on the lack of mental health facilities in Wexford and also the crime rate at the time.
Since then, he has joined the Fianna Fáil party and is currently considering seeking convention approval for the 2019 local elections.
‘I believe with the district changes it’s vital that Wexford town has a strong, young, vibrant working class voice in the next council and I would like to play my part in that.’
