Junction

A review is planned for Ballycarney junction after some accidents. Cllr Kathleen Codd Nolan said: ‘It’s a national route. It’s very dangerous and we’ve had a lot of accidents. I really think it needs to be looked at.’ She said every second week an accident occurs at the junction. ‘Thank God no one has been killed but there will be an accident that will be very serious and someone will be killed.’ Director of Services for Roads Eamonn Hore said Ballycarney junction was upgraded a number of years ago. ‘We are looking at it again in light of the current accidents. We have brought them up with Transport Infrastructure Ireland.’
