Meeting on cath lab concerns
A MEETING on the need for a cath lab in Waterford University Hospital is taking place in the Ferrycarrig Hotel, Wexford, this Wednesday night.
Everyone is invited to attend the meeting which will be addressed by cardiac care experts from Wexford General Hospital and Waterford University Hospital, along with campaigners who have been actively seeking a cath lab for the hospital.
Currently, anyone in County Wexford who suffers a heart attack outside business hours Monday to Friday is transferred to a hospital either in Cork or Waterford.
People attending the meeting in the Táin Room will hear real life cases involving people who have been affected by the shortfall in the service. Several well-known Wexford people have lent their support and time to the campaign including Liam Spratt, Liam Griffin, the county’s former chief superintendent John Roche, among others.
