VITAL Material is what you’ ll see in the Opera Festival exhibitiio­n in the Creative Hub, Wexford’s new artist’s work and studio spaces situated in a large premises between the Bullring and Mallin Street.

The Creative Hub is home to over 25 artists and craft makers as well as young musicians based in Wexford County with a mixture of working studios, exhibition retail and workshop space.

Spearheade­d by Wexford County Council Arts Officer Liz Burns in associatio­n with Wexford Arts Centre, it is the envy of other counties.

The track records of the artists range from high points such as exhibiting at Electric Picnic, a Royal Ulster Academy Award, OPW patronage and County Council awards.

The Hub provides subsidised work and studio spaces and is an exciting focal point for meeting and connecting. The studios operate on an annual open applicatio­n basis.

The artists are Helen Gaynor, Fran Greene, Bernadette Doolan Declan Cody, Wexford Arts Hub, Olivia O’Dwyer, Fergus Doyle, Ceri Ryan and Ciaran Bowen. and the Makers House which is filled with exquisitel­y hand-crafted products The exhibition ‘Vital Material’ is a showcase of the work of experience­d profession­als and recent graduates.

The Creative Hub is open daily from 10 a.m .to 5.30 p.m. Monday to Saturday. Visitors can wander around, meet the artists, view the exhibition­s and purchase art and craft work. The premises will also be open from 12 p.m. to 6 p,m. on Sundays during the Opera Festival.
