BRIDGE Drama will return to Wexford Arts Centre from October 30 to November 3 with two one-act plays ‘After the Picnic’ by David Foxton and ‘When I Snap My Fingers’, a farce by Bruce Adams.

‘After the Picnic’ takes place on Valentine’s Day in the year 1900 when staff of the Appleyard College for Yount Ladies decide it is a perfect day for a picnic. A small group of supervised school girlsset out for a local beauty spot, Hanging Rock’. Some of them never return.

The play directed by Jacqui Whelan and stars Fiona McDermott, Aoife Rattigan, Tara Davies, Ailbhe Tierney, Róisín O’ Sullivan, Katie Connick, Megan Morahan and Sarah Ryan.

‘When I Snap My Fingers’ is directed by Denis Leahy with a cast including Myles Sunderland, Ken Murphy, Róisín Dennigan, Sadhbh Tierney, Seamus Murphy, Mairead Cummings and Madeleine Flanagan.

It’s a farcical story about Simon and Maria Moffat who agree to undergo hypnosis as part of Sven Gali’s act but unbeknown to the couple, Sven is interrupted before he has removed the effect of certain trigger words. The following day, Simon invites his boss and his wife around for dinner in the hope of salvaging his foundering career. With Simon and Maria still susceptible to key words, some very odd behaviour threatens to make Simon’s future more vulnerable than ever.
